Digital comic publisher GlobalComix announced that the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation manhua is now available on their platform as part of their recently launched partnership with Seven Seas Entertainment. [Source: Twitter/X, Bluesky]
The manhua adaptation of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s hit danmei novel series Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi is illustrated by artist Luo Di Cheng Qiu. It began serialization on KuaikanManhua in 2017, and completed its 259-chapter run in 2022. Seven Seas has been publishing the manhua physically since 2023; their upcoming release of Vol. 13 is the series finale, which means that the work will soon be available for English fans to experience in full.
Grandmaster‘s manhua was co-produced by Tencent, the rightsholder for the live-action and donghua adaptations of the same story, meaning that the work is subject to similar content restrictions.
GlobalComix’s partnership with Seven Seas does not represent the first time the series has been digitally available in English, as it was once hosted on the now-defunct WeComics. Seven Seas has also been releasing each volume in eBook format as they are released physically, lending it widespread availability on various eBook platforms. Still, this announcement represents a notable landmark for the danmei genre given GlobalComix’s position as a major digital comic platform.
Founded in 2017, GlobalComix is a digital comic/webtoon platform that has contracts with a number of comic publishers, ranging from industry giants like Marvel and DC to indie creators.
Access to the Grandmaster manhua comes free with a site subscription, alongside many other titles from Seven Seas’ manga and manhwa catalog. Individual volumes can be purchased permanently. GlobalComix’s partnership with Seven Seas may result in more of Seven Seas’ danmei manhua titles becoming digitally available on the app, though their FAQ notably indicates that they do not permit R18-rated/sexually explicit works.

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi (魔道祖师) is a danmei novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, also known as MXTX. It began serialization in 2015 and ran for 113 chapters (plus 13 Extras), and is available to read in Chinese on JJWXC.
The series has received numerous adaptations, including a donghua adaptation, a manhua adaptation (also available physically and digitally in English), a Japanese manga adaptation, an audio drama adaptation dubbed in Chinese and Japanese, a Japanese stage play, and a live-action adaptation known as The Untamed.
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation was picked up for English release in 2021 by Seven Seas Entertainment and saw staggering success on sales charts; netting multiple New York Times Best Seller placements across its run. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has also written two other hit danmei series that are available in English: The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统) and Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福).
