Rosmei recently announced their future plans for Wine and Gun, a danmei novel by Mengye Mengye. They seek to release a Chinese-language audio drama, and provide an estimated timescale of production and release between 2026 and 2035. They will be launching series merch sometime between 2027 and 2035, and also indicate plans to release an English audiobook for the series sometime between 2030 and 2035. [Source: Twitter/X, Bluesky]
On their official website, Rosmei teased several new danmei licenses via their Progress Report page. Seven new series in total were added: three series in the “Historical Danmei” subsection, three series in the “Modern Danmei” subsection, and one series in the “Manhua” subsection. The details of all seven series are listed as “TBA,” so Rosmei will likely be making official announcements via social media sometime in the future.
No further information was provided regarding what platform(s) would host the audio drama and audiobook, but given the timeframe estimated by Rosmei, these details may still be being discussed. In a response to a Twitter/X comment, a Rosmei representative indicated that the publisher does not currently plan to release their Wine and Gun audio drama with English subtitles, but also stated they would make the company aware of these requests for consideration.
Regarding audiobooks, this is not the first one the publisher has teased—in June 2025, they announced an audiobook for Tailhook to be released in 2027. Audiobooks seem to be the next frontier for English danmei publishers, as TokyoPop’s audiobook for The Wizard is set to be released in October 2025 (with preorders available at time of writing on Audible and NOOK), and Seven Seas recently announced upcoming audiobooks for three of their works from Fei Tian Ye Xiang.
