Rosmei celebrated its third anniversary as a publisher with news and updates about their upcoming release of Tailhook, a danmei series by La Rive Gauche. This is the first update the publisher has shared regarding the series since their initial announcement in October 2024.
They provided the following dates in their infographic:
2026-2027 : Merchandise : The first batch of Tailhook merchandise, themed “Long Night”
2026 : Physical book : The English translation of Tailhook
2027 : Audio book : Production for the Tailhook audio book is set to begin in 2027, with the release date to be announced
All dates are tentative and subject to change based on our schedules.
The announcement promises a planned merch release for Tailhook in 2026-2027, and a tentative physical release date for the book sometime in 2026. They also state their plans to start production on an audiobook for the series in 2027, though they provided no estimate on when the audiobook itself will release. Because Rosmei’s publishing license only allows them to sell within Singapore, their works are not available on North American retail platforms—this means they will not be able to sell this or any other audiobooks through popular platforms like Audible or NOOK.
Audiobooks seem to be the next frontier for English danmei publishers, as Rosmei is not the first to reveal plans for official danmei audiobooks. TokyoPop’s audiobook for The Wizard is set to be released in October 2025, with preorders available at time of writing on Audible and NOOK. Other danmei publishers seem to have been preparing for an audiobook push for some time: Yang Su (the author of There’s Something Wrong with the Chief) mentioned on their Weibo in October 2024 that Seven Seas had also bought the rights to produce an audiobook when they secured the rights to publish their work in English print, and said publisher already has a growing audio library for their Japanese light novels under the imprint Siren.
It’s encouraging to see English danmei publishers acknowledge the need for audiobooks: not only are they are an enormous market in the NA region, they’re also an important accessibility option for individuals with low vision or text processing disorders.
Tailhook (尾钩) is a danmei novel by La Rive Gauche. It was originally serialized on Changpei/gongzicp in 2022, and ran for 47 chapters (with 2 Extras).

Two airplane pilots named Zhou Qichen and Lang Feng develop a mutual attraction that spirals into something much more complicated.
Tailhook is set in the same universe as The Approach, and stars a secondary romantic couple from that series. The Approach is pending an English release date by publisher Hai Tang Books.
This is potentially the first known incidence of two danmei series set in the same universe being licensed by different publishers, and it will be interesting to see how Hai Tang and Rosmei choose to move forward with their releases. The two publishers appear to have a friendly relationship as per this interaction from Hai Tang’s debut in December 2024, so they may have planned the licensing in this way to prepare for a collaboration.
