Seven Seas announced that buyers who pre-order the hardcover re-release of The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System through the independent retailer Yiggybean will receive an exclusive acrylic coaster, featuring a piece by artist Bakuten. The offer is valid for all who pre-order through Yiggybean (while supplies last), including those who placed their orders before the collaboration’s announcement. [Source: Twitter/X, Bluesky]
Bakuten also provides the art for the release’s endpapers, as well as the yet-to-be-revealed slipcase. Artist Cha provides the illustration for the dust jacket and painted edges, while the hardcover board design beneath the dust jacket is provided by artist St. The B&W interior illustrations provided by artist Xiao Tong Kong (a.k.a. Velinxi) will be retained from the original paperback release.
The hardcover re-release promises foil-lettered dust jackets with exclusive art, linen-texture graining covers with foil imprints, illustrated edges, and a ribbon bookmark. These features are similar to those included in Seven Seas’ Heaven Official’s Blessing and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation hardcovers, but in contrast to the per-volume releases of those series, Scum Villain’s hardcover release will be handled as a single bundled box set of four volumes; priced at $139.99 USD overall. The volumes will not be sold separately. Due to the multi-volume nature of this particular release, Seven Seas is including an illustrated slipcase for the volumes, as well as a mini artbook and two all-new mini posters.

This is very notably a single-run release—meaning that after the initial preorders are fulfilled, and some additional stock printed for store shelves, the Scum Villain hardcover edition will never be printed again. This is similar to Seven Seas’ treatment of the original paperback run’s special edition release of the fourth and final volume, which sold out so quickly that many who preordered weren’t able to get a copy. Due to the extremely limited run of the hardcover release, it would behoove interested fans to preorder as soon as they can so that an appropriate number of volumes can be printed based on these numbers.
