Monogatari Novels has revealed the cover for the second volume of their upcoming English edition of The Legendary Master’s Wife.
Despite Monogatari’s initial statement that they would remain the cover artist for all volumes, Zolaida did not return to illustrate Vol. 2’s cover. Instead, Vol. 2’s cover art is done by Ereyz.
No release date has been announced, and preorders are not yet active. Although Vol. 1 was announced with multiple editions for readers to choose from (normal, special, collector’s), Monogatari has not disclosed any information on whether they will be doing the same with Vol. 2. Preorders for Vol. 1 remain active on the publisher’s website.
The Legendary Master’s Wife is a cultivation danmei series written by Yin Ya, with its English license initially announced in August 2023. Monogatari provides the following summary on their website:
After a sudden and unfortunate explosion, You Xiaomo wakes up in a body and a world that isn’t his own. With his name being the only remaining thing familiar to him, he has to adapt quickly, which is as unbelievable as I say. He has taken over the body of a probationary disciple of the Tianxin Sect and has six months to prove his worth as an alchemist, or he’ll be expelled.
Determined to make a good life for himself in this new world, You Xiaomo puts his entire soul into refining medicinal pills and finding ways to earn money. While doing so, he stumbles upon Ling Xiao, the number one practitioner and rumored successor of the Tianxin Sect. While this seems to be a stroke of good luck, You Xiaomo soon discovers, to his horror, that Ling Xiao is neither what he appears nor who he claims to be.
