Aloha Comics revealed their license for the second season of the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua comic, and did it with considerable style: On Hua Cheng’s birthday (June 10), the publisher purchased billboard ad space in New York City’s Times Square in order to showcase the new license to the world. In addition to this announcement, Aloha Comics hosted a book signing event at the nearby Union Square Barnes & Noble on June 13 and arranged for some special guests: Howard Wang and James Cheek (the English voice actors for Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, respectively), as well as professional cosplayers Yutou and Hanyu Li to portray the lead pair. Dimension Poptown, a NYC cafe that previously hosted a Heaven Official’s Blessing theme, generously supplied freebies for the event. The license being celebrated is for a comic adaptation of the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua that features high-quality animation stills. Aloha Comics previously released Season One of this comic adaptation, which adapted the first season of the donghua, and Season Two will in turn adapt the second donghua season.

The series has received numerous adaptations, including a donghua adaptation, an unreleased live-action adaptation, an ongoing audio drama adaptation, and a manhua adaptation. Heaven Official’s Blessing was picked up for English release in 2021 by Seven Seas Entertainment, and saw staggering success on sales charts; netting multiple New York Times Best Seller placements across its eight-volume run. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has also written two other hit danmei series that are available in English: The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统) and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (魔道祖师).
