A recent official announcement states that Bilibili, the producers of the hit donghua adaptation of Heaven Official’s Blessing, will be hosting a panel at this year’s Anime Expo convention. Rumors have since begun flying about potential new announcements for the beloved danmei work.
Anime Expo is North America’s largest anime convention, held annually in Los Angeles, California. Its primary focus is on anime and manga, while also acting as a bustling hub for related fandoms and industry such as video games, webtoons, comic books—and in recent years—danmei. This year’s convention is set to be held from July 2 – 5, 2026.
On May 23, Anime Expo posted the following announcement to their social media:

This mention of Heaven Official’s Blessing kicked off a wave of speculation in the post’s comments, and spiraled into gossip across all social media about the possibility of an upcoming Season 3 for the donghua. With Season 1 released in late 2020 and Season 2 in 2023, the time feels right three years later for a Season 3, despite the difficulties being faced by many danmei adaptations under increasingly strict government media restrictions in China.
Several days later, on May 29, Bilibili posted a similar announcement to their own social media—however, any mention of Heaven Official’s Blessing was notably absent.

Given the domestic and international popularity of Heaven Official’s Blessing, it is unlikely that Bilibili would fail to mention it themselves if major news—such as a long-awaited third season—would be unveiled at their Anime Expo panel. At last year’s Anime Expo panel, Bilibili confirmed they had more short films planned for the series and stated that they could not comment on anything surrounding a Season 3.
With that being said, it is unlikely that Anime Expo would name-drop Heaven Official’s Blessing in their social media announcement post if they had not been cleared to do so by Bilibili’s team. If news is set to drop at the Anime Expo 2026 event, it may be that a new Heaven Official’s Blessing short film will be teased or shown, but fans should still keep the faith for news on Season 3!

Bilibili’s panel is sure to be a convention highlight, but they’re not the only attraction for danmei fans at this year’s Anime Expo.
Inklore, the publisher of the English release of the Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua, will be hosting two panels: a panel on July 3 for previews and license announcements, and another panel on July 5 on how to get started in the manga publishing industry. Last year, Inklore’s industry booth was dressed to the nines with Heaven Official’s Blessing signage and decor as part of the promotion for their physical manhua release.

Who Isn’t Gonna Be There?
Although the publisher was previously a regular at the event, Seven Seas has been absent at Anime Expo since their last appearance in 2023. Likewise, other danmei publishers such as Rosmei, Hai Tang, Via Lactea, and Aloha Comics have not been listed as attending Anime Expo 2026 as per the convention’s official site.
Seven Seas will likely be present at Anime NYC 2026 (Aug 20 – 23), given their attendance in recent years. They are also listed as a sponsor on said convention’s official site. At last year’s Anime NYC, Seven Seas announced their acquisition of the English license for Panguan as well as the launch of their first danmei audiobooks; hopefully, more licenses are incoming at this year’s event.
Update, 6/6/26: With today’s release of the Anime Expo panel schedule, Seven Seas is confirmed to have a panel at the event that promises announcements. The publisher will not have an exhibitor’s booth at AX 2026, but this is exciting news for those hopeful for new danmei licenses.

Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福) is a danmei novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, also known as MXTX. It began serialization in 2017 and ran for 244 chapters (plus 8 Extras), and is available to read in Chinese on JJWXC.
The series has received numerous adaptations, including a donghua adaptation, an unreleased live-action adaptation, an ongoing audio drama adaptation, and a manhua adaptation. The manhua adaptation is available to read in English online through Lezhin Comics, and is physically available in English through publisher Inklore.
Heaven Official’s Blessing was picked up for English release in 2021 by Seven Seas Entertainment, and saw staggering success on sales charts; netting multiple New York Times Best Seller placements across its eight-volume run. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has also written two other hit danmei series that are available in English: The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (人渣反派自救系统) and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (魔道祖师).
