Hai Tang Books opened preorders for Vol. 1 of The Approach, a danmei by La Rive Gauche centered around airline pilots. The preorder period runs from May 9 – June 8, 2026.

The volume will be released in two editions, which each come with a set of special merch included for preorders. The Retail Set ($20.99 USD) includes an in-universe cafe membership card and a card with the author’s pre-printed signature. The Bundle Set ($30.99 USD) includes the indicated preorder freebies, plus a luggage card with character art.
Hai Tang originally announced their license for the series in February 2025. The series Tailhook is also set in the same universe, and focuses on characters from a background pairing in The Approach. Tailhook was recently released in English by publisher Rosmei, making this the first known incidence of two danmei series set in the same universe being licensed by different publishers.
