US and India-based publisher Crossed Hearts recently announced their first license in the company’s GLAM BEAT! imprint—Borrowing Your Textbook 175160.
Described as “a heartfelt and intimate high-school yuri manga”, Borrowing Your Textbook 175160 is from creator TaaRO, and is currently being serialized on the Japanese website, Pixiv. The series has been running since December 2021 and currently has seven chapters. Although by a Chinese creator and starring Chinese characters, Crossed Hearts corrected a post calling it a manhua (a Chinese comic) and instead a manga (a Japanese comic), presumably due to the story’s Japanese serialization and right-to-left reading order.
Crossed Hearts will be releasing the first chapter of Borrowing Your Text book 175160 in English digitally in April 2026. There are currently not enough chapters for a print edition; however, it is intended to be released in print once enough content is available.
Su Yao is 175 cm tall and painfully aware of it.
Liu Xi is 160 cm tall, close enough that Su Yao never quite knows where to place her hands, her gaze, or her heart.
It begins with an excuse too small to question.
“Can I borrow your textbook?”
One excuse becomes another.
A shared desk.
A sleeve gently tugged.
A smile warm enough to linger.
Su Yao tells herself she’s only being thoughtful. Only being kind. But every time Liu Xi tilts her head and looks up, something inside her falters.
A representative of Crossed Hearts said that their next license would be a baihe manhua, releasing in both print and digital editions along with bonus collectibles.
The GLAM BEAT! imprint is dedicated to GL (girls’ love) and was announced on January 1, 2026.

Danmei titles are part of the company’s plan for the imprint, “Ranging from modern-thrillers to academic-setting ones too!” (Source). A representative for the company also said they are not licensing any titles from JJWXC at this time—the Chinese platform where the majority of best-known danmei series are originally serialized—but are actively looking for recommendations from other places (Source).

Crossed Hearts officially announced itself as a publisher in August 2025, while the company had been operating prior since earlier in 2024. They publish a variety of manga and webtoons reformatted for print, with primary distribution on their website and via Amazon, as well as multiple retail stores. Their titles generally see release first in the UK, before becoming available in other countries, including US, Canada, and India.
Crossed Hearts provides a Google form for license suggestions, as well as a Collector’s Circle where fans are encouraged to join them on a private Discord server to help influence future publication decisions. Although on an invite-only basis, applying can be done via an email submission on the bottom of their website. (Editor’s Note: The link on Crossed Hearts’ social media platform to their Collector’s Circle occassionally redirects to a live casino page. Always take caution clicking any links!)
