In their August 2025 reveal of the cover art for Vols. 1-4 of the series, Rosmei stated in a reply to a Twitter/X user that preorders would go live sometime in 2026, meaning that fans still have a while to wait. In the meantime, readers can occupy themselves with Hunt for the Leviathan’s prequel series A Break in the Clouds, as Vol. 1 was released by the publisher in July 2025.

Hunt for the Leviathan (吞海), also known as Swallow the Seas or Tun Hai, is a danmei novel by Huai Shang. The work is a sequel to A Break in the Clouds. It began serialization in 2019 and ran for 163 chapters (plus 5 Extras). It is available to read in Chinese on JJWXC.
The series has received an audio drama adaptation, as well as a manhua adaptation. The manhua was originally published in Chinese on Kuaikan and has since been removed. English translations of the manhua are available digitally through INKR, Tappytoon, Mangatoon, WebcomicsApp, and Coolmic.
