Via Lactea announced physical preorders for To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 6, a danmei novel by Gu Xuerou (a.k.a. Fei Tian Ye Xiang). [Source: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] The cover art is provided by returning artist BEI, who also provided the art for Vols. 1-5 of the series.
Vol. 6 is the final volume in the series, and consists exclusively of Extras. Author Fei Tian Ye Xiang has written new extras for Turbulent World every year since 2014 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is reflected in the volume’s cover theme. A representative from Via Lactea confirmed to DanmeiNews that Vol. 6 will include all Extras for the series up to and including 2025’s freshly released piece.
The preorder period spans from September 26 – October 27, 2025. A shipment date is yet to be announced.
Freebies included with preorders include a postcard, a PVC card, two square cards, and a romantic in-universe letter from male lead Li Zhifeng to main character You Miao.
It is standard practice for Via Lactea to release a series in eBook format first in order to incorporate fan feedback and corrections into later print releases, and To Rule in a Turbulent World Vols. 1-4 accordingly had eBook releases before physical books shipped. At time of writing, Vol. 3 and Vol. 4 are available on Via Lactea’s regular list of digital retailers with the exception of Amazon’s Kindle, and Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are available through the Kindle platform as well as multiple other channels. Vol. 5 is not yet available on any digital platforms.
Preorders can be made on Via Lactea’s site during the Sept 26 – Oct 27 period, or through one of their listed third-party vendors. The volume is priced at $26.99 CAD, and ordering within the first week (Sept 26 – Oct 3) will net buyers a small discount ($25.99 CAD).

To Rule in a Turbulent World (乱世为王) is a danmei series written by Gu Xuerou, a pen name of well-known author Fei Tian Ye Xiang. It began serialization on jjwxc in 2014 and ran for 75 chapters, with 12 Extras at time of writing. It inspired a manhua adaptation, as well as an audio drama.
