Via Lactea published the English eBook version of To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 4, a historical danmei novel by Gu Xuerou (also known as Fei Tian Ye Xiang).
Although the publisher made no formal announcement, Via Lactea uploaded the digital edition of Vol. 4 to various digital retailers on September 13, 2025, including Rakuten Kobo and Smashwords. It is not yet available on Amazon’s Kindle platform.
It is common practice for Via Lactea to initially release the individual volumes of a series in eBook format in order to incorporate fan feedback and corrections into future print releases. Vol. 3 of the series is also absent from the Kindle platform, though Vols. 1 and 2 remain available on it. Vol. 5 is not yet available on any digital platforms.
The preorder period for Vol. 4’s physical release recently concluded in August 2025, and listings for physical orders are live with several third-party retailers. There is currently no news from the publisher regarding when orders will ship. The first volume (To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 1) was physically released in October 2024, the second (To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 2) in May 2025, and the third (To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 3) recently began shipping in September 2025.

To Rule in a Turbulent World (乱世为王) is a danmei series written by Gu Xuerou, a pen name of well-known author Fei Tian Ye Xiang. It began serialization on jjwxc in 2014 and ran for 75 chapters, with 12 Extras at time of writing. It inspired a manhua adaptation, as well as an audio drama.
