Seven Seas shared a sneak peek at the Special Edition merch for their upcoming release of Fei Tian Ye Xiang’s Joyful Reunion Vol. 1.
For Joyful Reunion’s debut volume, the release comes with a bookmark, sticker sheet, a paper folding screen, and an art board; all with art unique to the release. It is not yet clear if the shikishi board will be a true shikishi board, or simply a square postcard; as was seen in the recently released special edition of The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish Vol. 4. The associated artists will be revealed on the volume’s release date (Aug. 5, 2025). As with all of Seven Seas’ danmei Special Editions, it is limited to a single print run and will not be available for purchase again after stock is sold out.
Seven Seas releases Special Editions for the first volumes of select danmei series only—previously, they would release them with every danmei series’ final volume. Seven Seas has not publicly disclosed how they determine which series receive this treatment, but it may be decided in part by projected sales numbers and fan reaction.
This also marks an official announcement for the volume’s new release date: August 5, 2025, moved from June 17, 2025. As DanmeiNews observed in our May 11 post on the subject, this delay was likely at least partially due to the tweaks the publisher made to the cover in response to negative fan reaction. The original cover is still displayed on Amazon for both the regular and special print editions of Vol. 1, but has now been updated on Seven Seas’ official series page. Seven Seas has not publicly commented on any changes.
