Debut Delays and Revisions for DINGHAI FUSHENG RECORDS and JOYFUL REUNION

Seven Seas Entertainment has several new series debuting from popular danmei author Fei Tian Ye Xiang, but some will be arriving later than expected—or looking a little differently than readers remember.

Dinghai Fusheng Records Vol. 1 Delays

Dinghai Fusheng Records Vol. 1 was originally scheduled to release on May 20, 2025. However, those who bought through Amazon received an email on May 2, 2025 advising them that the release had been delayed to June 24, 2025 [src: Reddit].

Seven Seas has made no official announcement regarding this delay, but eager readers can take its relative brevity (only a month) as encouraging. In the meantime, the series has an ongoing manhua release by Seven Seas (with the first and second volumes out on store shelves at time of writing), as well as a donghua available to watch for free with English subs on YouTube. The manhua’s third volume is has also been delayed, with its original August 2025 release being pushed to November 2025. (Updated: 5/11/25)

Dinghai Fusheng Records (定海浮生录) is a danmei webnovel series written by Arise Zhang (also known as Fei Tian Ye Xiang). It was originally serialized on JJWXC starting in 2019, where it ran for 138 chapters. Chronologically, Dinghai Fusheng Records is the first book in the Exorcism universe and takes place in the same world as Legend of Exorcism. It has both a manhua and a donghua adaptation. The first and second volumes of the manhua are available in English from Seven Seas, and the manhua’s third volume is slated for release in November 2025.

Joyful Reunion Vol. 1 Cover Revisions and Delay

Joyful Reunion Vol. 1 saw criticism regarding its cover when it was originally revealed in March 2025. At the time, fans took issue with character proportions, and voiced their displeasure about font and color palette choices.

Seven Seas appears to have taken the comments to heart, as on May 8, 2025, the Amazon Kindle listing was updated with a revised front cover. Changes include those to the horse, the placement of the hands, and some color adjustments.

The original cover is still displayed on Amazon for both the regular and special print editions of Vol. 1, as well as on Seven Seas’ official series page. Seven Seas has not publicly commented on any changes.

Both print editions of Joyful Reunion have also been delayed from their original June 17, 2025 date to August 5, 2025. This is likely to accommodate the time needed to make alterations to the cover, and submit the finalized volume for print and distribution.

The first volume of Joyful Reunion will be available in two editions—the standard and special edition. The special edition includes the book itself, as well as a double-sided bookmark, a paper folding screen, a shikishi board, and a sticker sheet. It’s not yet clear if the shikishi board will be a true shikishi board, or simply a square postcard as was seen in the recently released special edition of The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish Vol. 4.
