In a nearly stealth release, Via Lactea has published the English eBook version of To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 3 by Gu Xuerou, also known as Fei Tian Ye Xiang.
Although the publisher made no formal announcement, Via Lactea uploaded the digital edition on April 12, 2025 to the site Smashwords, which was spotted by eagle-eyed fans in the company’s Discord on April 24, 2025. At time of writing, the volume is available on Via Lactea’s regular list of digital retailers with the exception of Amazon’s Kindle. Both previous volumes of To Rule in a Turbulent World remain available through the platform.
It is common practice for Via Lactea to initially release the individual volumes of a series only in eBook format. They often incorporate fan feedback and corrections into the future print releases.
There is currently no news from the publisher regarding a physical release date for Volume 3. The first volume (To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 1) was released in October 2024, and the second (To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 2) was rescheduled for release from March 2025 to May 2025.

To Rule in a Turbulent World (乱世为王) is a danmei series written by Gu Xuerou, a pen name of well-known author Fei Tian Ye Xiang. It began serialization on jjwxc in 2014 and ran for 75 chapters, with 12 Extras at time of writing. It inspired a manhua adaptation, as well as an audio drama.
The story is loosely based on the events surrounding the fall of the Song Dynasty. It follows You Miao, a once-rich young master who now only has his late mother’s barren estate and a loyal Quanrong slave. As he attempts to start anew, the country is thrown into the chaos of war. Along with his new sworn brothers, he embarks on a journey to uphold a fractured nation.
