Digital-publisher Baiheverse recently announced their license, and simultaneous digital launch, of the baihe manhua series, Canine Senior and Dog Junior.
Original title 犬系前辈与犬系后辈, Canine Senior and Dog Junior is a digital comic created by xiangbox, with longlegdog providing the English translation for Baihevere’s edition. The series is seven chapters long, including one bonus Valentine’s Short.
The complete series is live now on Baiheverse’s website, with the first chapter available for free. Remaining chapters can be individually purchased using the site’s coin system. Readers can also pay additional coins to the authors as Gifts, with xiangbox providing custom art for three of the tiers.
Baiheverse shared the following synopsis for Canine Senior and Dog Junior:
Faced with Sun Yunshan’s unexpected question, Chen Yue wasn’t sure how she should respond as her interviewer. Would someone like her really pass the screening process? To Yue’s surprise however, Sun Yunshan successfully landed the position, and the two gradually grew close working together each day. Then, as unspoken feelings slowly blossomed within Yunshan, Yue was unknowingly drawn to Yunshan’s sincerity and persistence…
Prior to this announcement, Baiheverse shared a series of social media posts summing up their current goals after releasing their initial title, The Clouds of Past Millennia. The company admitted that the series is still “far from breaking even” but that they’ll be continuing to reach out to creators to publish “smaller-scale projects or ongoing serialized works”, as novel-length projects are currently outside their operating budget.
A teaser was later posted for Baiheverse’s third series debut—a manhua series about a manhua creator and her editor. With the first chapter already translated, Baiheverse informed readers it should be available to read soon.
