Baiheverse Launches Debut with The Clouds of Past Millennia Web Novel Series

New digital publisher Baiheverse has launched its first series, The Clouds of Past Millennia, marking the company’s official entry into the world of Chinese sapphic (baihe) fiction.

Original title 白云千载, and written by popopo, The Clouds of Past Millennia is a historical transmigration story about two women whose lives are connected across multiple lifetimes.

Baiheverse posted the following synopsis:

Wei Zai had become emperor long before she died, but when she did, she became stuck within her own imperial mausoleum. After waking up from prolonged slumber, she realized that more than a millennium had passed. Her mausoleum was now a large public park, and the music from the square-dancing aunties was deafening.

Wei Zai was a relatively good-tempered emperor, so she didn’t care much about the disrespect the people were showing; she would even mingle among them, dancing along. However, spending her days as the only ghost around was lonely, and she missed her old friends. Just as she was reminiscing, when she turned around, she caught sight of Xu Qingchu in a modern getup.

The Clouds of Past Millennia has been translated by hazevie, with cover art by 肌肉女人嬷Eva. The complete series is available now with by-the-chapter purchases on Baiheverse’s website, with 27 individual chapters, one extra, and the author’s notes. The first three chapters are currently free to read.

In celebration of the series being live for a week, Baiheverse shared character designs for the story’s leads, as well as a giveaway for redeem codes to read the series.

Baiheverse says more titles are on the way, with updates coming in April.
