Hai Tang Books announced they will soon be launching preorders for Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating Vol. 1, a danmei novel by Jiang Zi Bei. The preorder period will span from March 8th – April 19th, 2025.
The promotional material also provides further information about the artists involved with the release: the cover art for Vol. 1 will be supplied by Fueki, and interior illustrations will be provided by Jessie L.
Hai Tang’s announcement states that they will be using the Nebelland Culture Communications platform through Shopify to take preorders. Nebelland’s store FAQ indicates that they are currently offering free shipping to the below countries on Hai Tang preorders over $30. (Qualifying buyers from countries not listed will receive $3 off their next purchase on the site.)

Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating Vol. 1’s Retail Set is priced at $21.00USD, and the Bundle Set is priced at $34.99USD; both sets come with a variety of freebies. The Retail Set includes a student ID card, a holographic sticker, and a printed signature card from the series author. The Bundle Set includes all items from the Retail Set, and adds a 5″ character standee which is one half of a matching set that will be released with Vol. 2. Preorders will also have a special metallic book edge finish, which will not be offered on reprints.
A particular freebie (main character Jing Huan’s character info card) is exclusive to buyers who order through Nebelland or through local Group Orders. Hai Tang Books assured a Twitter/X user that all freebies aside from the card will be included in orders not placed directly through Nebelland’s site.
This marks Hai Tang’s first preorder period. They have already announced several other upcoming danmei series for 2025 (Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know, To Marry A Demon, I Can Do It, Don’t Pick Up Boyfriends from the Trash Bin, A Certain Someone, and The Approach), and continue to expand their distribution network to make their books available across the world.
Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating (网恋翻车指南) is a danmei series written by Jiang Zi Bei. It began serialization on jjwxc in 2019 and ran for 120 chapters (including extras). It has since been adapted into an audio drama, which is available on MissEvan.
Jiang Zi Bei also wrote the series Limerence, which is available for purchase through Via Lactea, as well as I Can Do It, which will be available from Hai Tang Books in 2025.
