Various retail sites—including Amazon (US), Blackwell’s, and Indigo—have recently updated to reflect a delay for the upcoming rerelease of Heaven Official’s Blessing from Seven Seas Entertainment. With the first volume originally scheduled for November 19, 2024, listings now show the first volume will not be released until December 3, 2024. This technically marks the second pushback of the date, as the original announcement had the date tentatively listed as October 2024.
Seven Seas Entertainment previously published their eight volumes of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s Heaven Official’s Blessing novel series from December 2021 to November 2023. Those original paperback editions regularly hit the New York Times’ Bestsellers list and were part of the three-series kickoff to the company’s new Seven Seas Danmei imprint. The rereleases will be in hardcover with foil stamping, along with new cover artwork. Each book will retail for $29.99/US.
Although only a delay of a couple weeks, it will undoubtedly upset and possibly concern many who’ve preordered the first volume since the hardcover edition was announced back in May. Seven Seas Entertainment was promoting the November release date for Heaven Official’s Blessing (Hardcover) Vol. 1 as recently as October 17 when they posted a preview unboxing video of the new edition.
At the time of posting, neither Seven Seas’ main website or the Seven Seas Danmei website have been updated to reflect the change. However, Penguin Random House, Seven Seas’ book distributor, has updated for the new December release.
Seven Seas Entertainment is a US-based publisher specializing primarily in Japanese manga and light novels. It’s recently branched out into printed webtoons and danmei, and is the current English industry leader for the latter under the imprint Seven Seas Danmei. As of October 2024, Seven Seas Entertainment celebrates its 20 years in business.
