Lezhin Comics announced on Twitter/X that they have acquired the rights to host an English translation of the Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua on their webtoon platform.
The manhua adaptation of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s hit danmei novel series Heaven Official’s Blessing (also known by its pinyin abbreviation, TGCF) is lavishly illustrated by artist STARember and has been running on Bilibili’s Chinese manhua platform since its debut in late 2019. Bilibili later released an English-language version of the app that hosted translations of their manhua releases; however, this version of the app was abruptly shuttered in early 2024, leaving western fans without a way to legally read their favorite series. Lezhin Comics is currently the only platform on which readers can legally read the Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua in English.
Founded in June 2013, Lezhin Comics is an established and well-known digital webtoon platform which specializes in Korean manhwa, including BL/GL works. They have an excellent reputation in fan communities, as they publish Mature/R18+ content; even when a given series is hosted on multiple official webtoon sites, Lezhin will often be the sole platform on which readers can read an uncensored version.
The Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua represents Lezhin’s first foray into danmei, and they have thrown their full weight into promoting it in the form of ads and special deals on coins (their in-app currency). This may indicate that the company is testing the water and is interested in acquiring more danmei manhua for digital release.
As of October 2024, there has been no public news regarding the print license status of the Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua in North American territories.
