On Twitter/X, Via Lactea announced preorders for To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 1 by Gu Xuerou. The preorder period will run from March 30, 2024 to April 30, 2024.
“Gu Xuerou” is the pen name of another well-known author, Fei Tian Ye Xiang (also known as Chicken-gege). Fei Tian has brought readers many other danmei works, including Legend of Exorcism and Dinghai Fusheng Records. Seven Seas Entertainment will be releasing several of Fei Tian’s other works in North America in the coming months.
To Rule in a Turbulent World (also known by its original title, Luan Shi Wei Wang) ran for 75 chapters on jjwxc starting in 2014. The story is loosely based on the events surrounding the fall of the Song Dynasty. It follows You Miao, a once-rich young master who now only has his late mother’s barren estate and a loyal Quanrong slave. As he attempts to start anew, the country is thrown into the chaos of war. Along with his new sworn brothers, he embarks on a journey to uphold a fractured nation.
It is standard practice for Via Lactea to release a series in eBook format first in order to incorporate fan feedback and corrections into later print releases. The eBook for To Rule in a Turbulent World Vol. 1 was available for purchase in November of 2023. The translation and editing team consists of Suika and Pengie respectively, who are the same team that worked on Seven Seas Entertainment’s Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and Heaven Official’s Blessing series.
